Parking Ban | Winter Parking Ban December 15 to March 15, 2am - 6am
Severe Cold Weather Advisory | The City is urging residents to be prepared today thru Tuesday as temperatures are forecast to dip into the single digits and teens over the next five days. Governor Ned Lamont announced that due to a weather forecast indicating that Connecticut will experience a blast of arctic temperatures averaging 10 to 20 degrees below normal over the next several days, he is directing the state’s Severe Cold Weather Protocol to be activated effective at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2025, and remaining in effect through 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 9, 2025. This is the first time this season that the protocol has been activated.
St. Vincent DePaul will host the city's overnight overflow center as part of this cold weather response; however, space is limited. If the local shelter is at capacity, those in need should dial 2-1-1, press option 5 and a contact specialist will direct them to other shelters and/or warming stations in surrounding communities
